Yeti

The Yeti series of frames are built to be tough and reliable in any situation you throw at it.

The Yeti 5" frame comes in two variations with either Toray T300 carbon arms for pilots who want to keep the cost down and also a Toray T700 carbon arm option for guys who are really pushing the limits. There is also a 6" and 7" arm option for pilots wanting a really light long range option. 

Yeti is a 215mm MTM, stretched-X design, weighing in at  85grams for the 5" variation. The 6" Yeti weights 101grams and the 7" Yeti comes in at 108grams. All the arms, 5, 6 and 7", all have the same quick-release architecture and are all interchangeable. So, all the arms 5" T300, 5" T700, 6" and 7" are all interchangeable on the same Yeti body.     

This frame features full 3mm thick front and rear side plates and a 3mm thick base plate. The 4 individual arms have a 3 bolt pattern motor arrangement and are 4mm thick.

There is a full 35mm internal cavity for protecting your quadruple electronics stack and space to fit either mini or micro cameras.

You gain quick and easy access to your stack by flipping the two top rails of the frame up.

Carbon

    4 x 4mm carbon fibre arms (Toray T300 UD Carbon) 

    2 x 2mm carbon fibre top chassis plates

    1 x 3mm carbon fibre main chassis plate (chamfered and counter- bore)

    2 x 3mm carbon fibre camera side plates (notched to indicate mini cam angle)

    2 x 3mm carbon fibre rear side plates

Fasteners

    5 x 16mm M3 button cap bolts

    9 x 12mm M3 button cap bolts

    3 x 8mm M3 button cap bolts

    5 x M3 stainless steel nylock nuts (wide flange with no serrated edge)

    2 x 16mm aluminium standoff (pick your colour)

    7 x press nuts

    Fasteners have been matched up together in separate packets to make it easier to assemble     the frame.

    1 x Battery Pad (low density foam, keeps it light, self-adhesive backing keeps it in place)

Recommendation 

AUW

As this frame is a multi-role platform recommending an AUW here would be pointless. Obviously a lighter frame for long range will get you further, for racing, a lighter frame may be what you are looking for or perhaps you like the feel and flight characteristics of a frame with a bit more weight behind it. 

Electronics

Yeti is designed to take a quadruple high electronics stack, either micro 20x20mm or the standard 30.5 x 30.5mm, and either a micro 19x19mm or mini 22x22mm camera.

As a 5" racer this frame has loads of power on either a 2206 or 2207 size motor, if you are carrying an HD camera for racing or freestyle a 2207 or 2306 motor is better. 

Long range Yeti is best matched with a 2208 or 24XX size motor, running a smaller motor on 6 or 7" prop can introduce vibration into your video as the motor doesn't have sufficient torque to push the propeller around consistently.
